Tonight Spartan has laid more eggs. We rescued Spartan the CAG from a bad home about ten months ago and we were told that since she never got loved over there she wasn't used to this type of affection, therefore making her see us as mates. in the ten months we've had her she's laid a total of eight eggs and we've tried everything to make her stop including my mother being unable to handle her (she is the one Spartan was closest with) and now its just me, my mother still handles her from time to time so she doesn't feel shes being abandoned but not nearly as much as she used to. we have tried the following: not toughing her back. changing her diet. changing her sleep schedule. buying her a new cage. removing any toys that are sexually frustrating(bedding, mirrors, favorite toy etc). moving her into the hallway and we've almost completely stopped cuddling her, along with a few other things whatever we do she wont stop having eggs and every time she does she gets weaker and weaker, she doesn't get on the bottom of her cage and she hardly eats/drinks to the point where she has no nutrients left for herself. we've tried eating with her but she wont eat things high in calcium (we even got a powder to mix into her existing food) and she also plucks a lot of her chest feathers. does anyone know how we can stop this or at least make her take care of herself in the process?

Mitzi laid eggs in 2019 and I was told to reduce her day to 6 hours and keep her in the dark for 18 hours to break the cycle. Can you get her to an avian vet? They can get inflammation from egg laying and need antibiotics, as Mitzi did. See: agp.boards.net/thread/8501/vet-again
