According to researchers the majority of dogs enjoy watching TV. After questioning over 1000 dog owners about their dogs, scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison found that pedigree dogs, especially labradors, were the most avid viewers, watching programmes about other dogs, nature, cartoons and cats. They were not keen on winter sports and ice skating. Overall, 86% of dog owners said their dogs watched TV with 72% watching at least once a day for around 20 minutes at a time but some owners said their dog would watch a whole movie, actively engaging and reacting to the plot.
Most dogs just stared at the screen but 19% barked howled whined or growled.
