This beautiful guy came to me on Christmas Eve. He has been with my aunt and uncle for over 25 years! Uncle passed away a year ago. 😔 he still says things in uncles voice. See you later mainly. Must have been hard on my aunt to hear it. She is ok and happy she still gets to see him. We have her here every 5 weeks as she lives a few hours from me. His name is pickle. I say he but he is actually a girl. So now his gender neutral lol. After a vet visit they kindle said eermmm he is a she. But was decided to continue to call him a him so as to not confuse him. His move to me went perfectly. He instant bonded with my bf! I was gutted lol because I wanted to love on him. But no. I get the death stare and get bitten even Tho I grew up with him, clean his cages and fresh food and grains, plus water a cpl of time a day because he likes to have poo water apparently. And I get hisses at and called many names a bird should not know lol. So Im just the maid in his eyes and guy that sits and watches me clean up pickle dust and pickles I don’t like that mega throws (hates the colour red! He will pick said chillies up and try his best to yeet them out of eye shot. Usually behide the couch lol. From a mum who adores pickle and A African grey pickle who wants to eat my face off daily. ❤️❤️❤️

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Greys do tend to have a favourite person and it isn't necessarily the one who does the cleaning and feeding. They generally have different relationships with each person and will behave differently with each one, especially in terms of who they allow to handle and touch them etc. It might also be that Pickle has quickly bonded with your boyfriend and now sees you as a rival. There isn't a lot you can do really apart from being the only one who gives Pickle treats. Not liking the colour red is quite common, despite their red tails, or maybe because of them.

Welcome to the forum.
My first cockatiel bonded with my husband instead of me. From the time my husband got home from work, the bird was attached to his shoulder. I know how you feel.
My first grey loved the colour red. He used to play fetch with a bowl of bottle caps. Once he threw the red one far away so I was going to leave it until the game was over. I put the others back in the bowl but the bird said, “no, the red one”.
Enjoy Pickle. These birds are so much fun.
