Beaker has taken to yelling for my son to come downstairs to either:
1. Join the "flock".
2. Play.
However, when he does come down, Beaker sometimes decides to stay in his cage (sanctuary!).
Today my son left for a few days and Beaker would not shut up.
Multiple coverings and uncovering resulted in minor breaks, but the yelling would begin again.
I finally warned Beaker that I would get a towel and drag him out of his cage if it continued.
He must have thought I was bluffing.
After being toweled up, Beaker became Mr. QUIET/Nice bird!
Now he is foraging his Dixie cup for a toffee cashew.
He is tearing the cup apart and staring at me as if to say,"If you didn't have that towel, this would be your hand".

Does Beaker stop yelling when your son comes into the room? Sounds like he just wants him to be there.
Mitzi keeps asking for my son (who is married and doesn't live here anymore) and I have to keep telling her where he is and that he doesn't live here anymore, but Mitzi is different with everyone and I think my son is actually her favourite person.

Yes, Beaker stops ranting when his buddy appears.
But when my son comes down if Beaker is on my desk, he runs to me.
"SAVE ME!"
What a freaking nut.

Round #2 with Beaker today, which he lost.
Mr. Towel made an appearance.

I have a blue fleece that I wrap Monty in to trim his beak. As soon as he sees me get it out he starts to protest. I also have a white towel that I sometimes use to wrap him up for a cuddle. He doesn't bat an eyelid when he sees it because although both are used to wrap him up he knows the difference between them.

Beaker knows a towel means serious business.
It is what the groomer uses to trim him and not get bit.
Boy. does he throw a fit!
It always ends up the same, Beaker red faced, panting and trimmed.
First time, he sulked in his cage for the rest of the day.

The vet used a towel when I took Chy for a checkup. I haven't taken her to the vet since before Covid.
She doesn't throw a fit. Maybe because she's a girl.

I love that, "Mr. Towel made an appearance."
I have a blue fleecy (not 100% fleece) jersey that I use. I was able to put it away for a good few months until about a month ago. Aka is going through a phase apparently. He won't get into his cage when I ask him to, even for sun time, he refuses to step on his ladder so I can move him from place to place (in particular the bathroom when he said he wanted to shower. He loves 'showering' with me, but he loves the "Gotta catch me first and let me bite you game" more), and he starts screaming as soon as I pick up my phone. I can't receive any phone calls during the day anymore unless I go to the bedroom and close the door, prompting him to scream louder. He also makes a point of climbing out of his cage when he hears us say "We have to go to the shop." Bribing with food works at the moment but I don't think it will forever.
He knows what the jersey means because he does what I want him to do as soon as he does it, but I always feel so guilty. The jersey lives in the lounge again, for now.
