Ever since I separated Monty and Mitzi, Mitzi has been spending a lot of time on the perch that was his favourite perch. Today i found a lot of grey feathers underneath it, more than would be normally expected day to day or from a moult and I am wondering if she has started plucking. She has never plucked before. There is no noticeable evidence on her so far.

Ash plucks, her chest is bear and she has started on her shoulders. We've tried a lot of different things to help, but nothing has stopper her. It makes me sad... reinforces to me that these birds should be out free flying through the jungle. Of course Ash has never seen a jungle and everything in it would be "scary".

I don't know about plucking. However, Mitzi is sad to be separated from her buddy but you can't have her bullying him.

It is difficult to know what is going on really. She is moulting but also in the last few months she has had a change of diet. There was a nationwide shortage of Nutriberries for a while and I had to ration the ones I had left and also the main mix she has had all her life was discontinued. She can still see Monty, their cages are side by side and they have both been out at the same time but I don't let Mitzi get too close to Monty.
