Monty and Mitzi are very different with toys. Mitzi will destroy toys very quickly whereas Monty will just play with them and never deliberately destroys them. I had got Monty a new toy but he wasn't very interested in it so I took it out and put it in Mitzi's cage. She has completely destroyed it in less than a day.

I can't get Ash to like any toys. Well, except for a speaker on a chain with a bell, which decided was her mate I guess and we had to remove it. Everything is scary, I have had toys sitting in her view for years and if pick them up she is still afraid of them.

Aka is the same for both of these comments haha. There are toys which he shreds to pieces within a day and then there are toys that he plays with gently to make sure he doesn't destroy them. It makes his cage look a bit strange though, there are a few toys which are hanging by a thread (metaphorically speaking) while others look almost brand new.
I have to put anything new in front of him for at least a week before I put them in his cage, otherwise, he thrashes around and tries to get out of his cage ASAP. This includes new perches, toys, or bowls. If I put them in his cage without doing that, once he calms down and realises the toy/perch/bowl isn't going to eat him, he refuses to interact with it, ever. Then he tries to bite me when I take the items out, probably as a punishment for traumatising him.

Chy immediately jumps on new toys and destroys them. New perches are terrifying. She won't go near them for days and does everything she can to avoid them.

Most of the toys that Sasha has she ignores. If I hang a paper bag or a piece of cardboard she will destroy them turning them into timy pieces of paper on the cage floor. .She used to like small hanging wood block types of toys, the paper bag is now the ultimate toy.

Paper and cardboard always seem to be popular and not scary. I once kept all the little bits of paper that Mitzi had chewed up and used them as packaging material inside a parcel I sent one Christmas. It was very effective although I did have to warn the recipient in advance.

After six days of avoiding the new perch, she finally stepped on it and is now trying to destroy it.
