As I mentioned in another thread, since he has been in a separate cage Monty has become rather uncontrollable with his broody behaviour. He is spending a lot of time displaying to and trying to mate with his toys and regurgitating to me. I am trying to fatten him up so I definitely don't want him regurgitating.
He is 31 and I think he feels he has been missing out all the years he has been sharing a cage with Mitzi so he is trying to make up for it now!

Give Monty all the loving he deserves.

Monty is still displaying to his toys and I am having to gently tell him that I don't want anything to eat as he is still regurgitating to me. I am thinking that because Monty and Mitzi were together from a young age they only ever considered each other to be family and not potential mates. Now Monty is on his own he is instinctively trying to mate. The toys he has in his cage are all new ones.

Manzi and Maui were together for 12 years before one day they decided to choose each other as mates. I wonder if now that Monty has been getting more breedy, if he will one day "choose" Mitzy!

Now Monty is in a separate cage Mitzi has taken to sitting on Monty's favourite perch. I am not sure whether this is because she is just claiming it as hers or because she misses seeing Monty sitting there.
