Hi there,
So I am leaving for 6 weeks in April and Aka has to stay home with a trusted sitter, but he can't walk around the house like he does here because they have dogs. I want to get him a parrot play gym, something like the picture I will attach to the message.
The only problem is, I can't find any local ones and I will have to pay R800-R1100 if I get it from Amazon or Ubuy. I'll get it at that price if I have to, but I would prefer to look for something cheaper that offers the same thing.
Are there any pet stores that you know of that sell something like this? I like this because it has a lot of stuff going on and I (or my husband) can attach smaller toys to the bars. It's also small enough to out in the cage and he can play safely. I have asked my local pet store and they don't have it, or any other type of play gym, nor can they order one.
Thanks.

Did you notice that it is made of wood? The dowels are not very thick either. I once bought a swing for Chy. She chewed through it in no time.

To be honest, I didn't realize the dowels and bars were so thin. Thanks for pointing that out. Do you get metal gyms for inside the cage?

I haven't seen any in metal. However, I am in Canada. We get different things than other people. Our items often come from the U.S.

I only have wood perches for my parrots, but they are usually 1" in diameter (2.54cm).

Hi Haz,
I looked on the internet and I could only find metal play gyms for outside the cage. They are normally a lot bigger than the wooden ones so they won't fit in his cage. I'll just get lots of toys instead, maybe some interactive ones.
Hi Adele,
I have wooden perches for Aka too, but I want to get the play gym to keep him busy during the day, so I'm scared he gets bored and chows the wooden perches on the play gym instead of using it as a play gym. He does that with the portrait above his cage, when he is bored or feeling naughty he climbs to the top of his cage and eats the wooden frame instead of playing with his toys. We can't move the painting or the cage because the portrait is about 1.7m in length and that wall is the only place it fits comfortably, and we can't move the cage because that's the only place where it's not in the way.
