Hi everyone,
We recently bought a warm-steam humidifier for Aka, and I put it on for the first time tonight in our room (where he sleeps). He seems to really enjoy it, he is sleeping on the side of the cage where the humidifier is located (previously he would sleep on the opposite side of his sleep cage).
The problem is, there is a feint new-plastic smell. I put it on during the day today to help get rid of the smell but its still there. Is this safe for him? Its not a very strong smell and I hardly smell it under the cage cover, but I just want to make sure I don't end up hurting him instead of helping him. I'm not sure if this smell will go away, I know some humidifiers have a smell when they are on, but still.
Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find anything about the smells specifically in the threads.
Thanks

Members do have humidifiers. I haven't got one but I think it is probably just the smell from a new appliance rather than anything noxious.

Thanks Jane, sorry for the late reply.
The smell was gone the next night and Aka didn't mind the smell so it was cool.
