Maui usually hangs out in or around her cage when I'm home. I often leave the cage open, and she'll climb out on top, but that's it.
After living in this house for 6 years, Maui has recently begun to leave her cage and walk around the house. She's quite slow, because she's old. I only leave the cage open when the kids are gone in school, cause she isn't a fan of them.
So I was sitting in my room chatting to my sister on the phone. After maybe 30 minutes or so, I heard Maui calling out, "Hello!" She was right outside my bedroom door. She's never gone down the hall before. So I picked her up and hung out with her for a bit. Then I went around the house trying to find where she walked to clean up any droppings before my husband and kids came home, and potentially stepped in it. I found a dropping in the kitchen. So she walked all the way over to the kitchen, then she walked down the hall looking for me.
Before, when Manzi was around, he always seemed to lead the trouble and Maui usually stayed back. But now that it is just Maui, maybe she's thinking it's time for her to do some exploring and take the lead.

That is so sweet she came to find you. She must be getting more confident about walking around the house.
