Over 40 camels have been banned from a camel beauty contest in Saudi Arabla because they have had cosmetic surgery.
Breeders of camels enter their camels in the annual King Abdulaziz Camel Festival to compete for £45 million ($66 million) in prize money. The camels are judged on the shape of the head and hump, the size of the lips and nose, and posture but the disqualified entrants were found to have "artificial enhancements" such as Botox and fillers. X rays, ultrasound and specialised technology is used to detect any signs of tampering with nature.
I didn't know there were camel beauty contests or cosmetic surgery for camels.

There were three camels on TV the other day, they were inside Salisbury Cathedral and were there for a rehearsal for a service on Christmas Eve. Their owner said they were very gentle and loved the attention. They looked amazing, with beautiful luxuriant fur. They were Bactrian camels so had two humps.

Wow, that is really interesting. I remember when I lived in MN for a job, there were camel races at the nearby track once a year to kick off the horse racing season.
