Beaker looks very pleased about that.

The vulture side of him is apparent.
By the way, he was in heaven.
There must be some enzyme in the hen like there is in turkey as he chowed down and then went in his cage and took a nap.

Anyone else's birds like to break open the bones and the marrow? Ash will get chicken leg bones and break them open for the marrow.

Ruby is most definitely a carnivore, and I guess something of a cannibal if poultry counts. My little T-Rex.

I've always been nervous about giving Ruby the bones of the chicken - I always cut off the meat for her for fear of choking. But after reading everyone's experiences I decided to give her a chicken wing today. Well, she was definitely in heaven. Amazing part is after she'd eaten all the meat she started grinding up the bones and I could see her licking out the marrow from the bones.
Now, she is almost 5 years old and never in her life had a chicken bone so I was somewhat amazed that she knew just what to do. Guess it's instincts although they chew up everything so I guess something tasty is bound to get in the way every now and then haha!

You are like me. I have never given Chy a chicken bone for fear of her choking. She loves chicken but I only give her the meat.

My two love chicken bones too. Their beaks get so shiny after eating them. They also crack them open and get out the marrow. I never thought about how they would know to do that... Not sure if it is just curiosity and then them finding more meat inside?

Apparently bone marrow has nutrients and fats in it that are good for the brain.
