Beaker likes to roam about and sometimes gets into trouble. My books are off limits!

I have a desk in the style that used to be called, secretary. The front drops down to form a writing surface and it has lots of compartments. Chy has started using it as her chew toy. It now has several chewed spots. I really like the convenience of that desk and don't know where to get a replacement. Every time she goes for it, I have to pick her up and move her but she tries to go back to it.

My sympathies!
Once they get it in their heads to chew on something, it is pretty hard to discourage.
I worked with a guy whose brother had a cockatoo that destroyed a custom oak headboard in one day.

When Mitzi was poorly last year I put her on the pine coffee table for the first time ever and let her play with various items. Then I was distracted for a few seconds to deal with Monty, and Mitzi chewed a big piece out of it.

People who walk into my house for the first time must think I am a crazy woman, when actually I am just a normal African Grey owner. LOL Sid is fully flighted and has learned that if he lands on my ceiling fans his weight will make them spin and he will get to ride in circles. crazy bird. Of course he has to taste a blade or two while up there, so his fear of large towels comes in handy. I hang a large towel on each ceiling fan to keep him off.

A colleague of my husband found an African Grey over 20 years ago. Of course, she didn't have a cage handy. She made the mistake of leaving it alone in her condo while she tried to locate its owner. It caused major damage.
She never found the owner and still has the bird all these years later.

Oh yeah... the doors and baseboards of my home have all kinds of bites and chips. She causes more destruction than a bull in a china shop.
