Beaker has this "thing" about yelling up the stairwell to get my son to come play with him or join the flock, I haven't figured that out yet.
I tell him that he is gonna piss off my son with the yelling and he is gonna come downstairs and pull out his feathers.
As soon as Beaker hears the bedroom door open, he runs into his cage.
This comes in handy when I can't get him to go to bed.
Yesterday, my son decided to get him out of his cage (he rattled a cookie bag) and then he locked him out and chased him around the cage for about 10 minutes and then played with him.
After that, Beaker made noises and talked with no yelling for a good 1/2 hour.
Guess he was happy, he sure got attention.

It's nice that your son will play with Beaker.

It's nice that your son will play with Beaker. Haz The relationship between Beaker and my son has done a 180 from the days Beaker would try to bite him. My son ignored him for almost two years because of it, and Beaker finally "got it". If you want someone to play with, don't bite them.

That's really nice and a cute story!! My parrots know that my kids give them treats, so they are okay taking treats from my kids without biting them (if they're still in their cage, I don't trust them around my kids outside of their cage). Still, that is the extent of their interaction. Maybe one day they'll get to the point of Beaker and your son!
