Yes they do molt. The shafts of molted feathers will look clean. You may also be able to see or feel the new feathers coming in, they will look like needles and are called pin feathers.

They can lose quite a lot of the smaller feathers when molting but the molt is seamless - they never lose so many of the flight feathers at any one time that they can't fly.

Beaker drops feathers and fluffies all over the place.
All my dust bunnies look like featherd mice.

Mine only does it when she's going through a molting stage, which she's going through right now. I can tell, because even her clipped flight feathers come out, as well. One of the things that I've done, which helps minimize Aziza's feather plucking is to give her the following supplements: A) A very small amount of flaxseed oil by mouth each day. B) Avi-Calm, a white powder that I put one scoop of into her drinking water every day, when I change it. C) A tannish powder called "Featheriffic", and another white powder, called AviCal Plus, both of which I put into Aziza's dry food (i. e., consisting of Roudybush Medium regular maintenance pellets and Boca-Nuts (a combo of nuts and dried fruits), which I change every 2-3 days. This, I believe, has helped cut down on the feather-plucking considerable. I've long since come to terms with the fact that, at least twice a year, Aziza goes through a stage where she doesn't look her best. She's a beautiful bird, nonetheless. She's sweet, and I love her.

Jane Also, the bigger feathers will come in the form of the rather large blood feathers. Be careful, because if blood feathers break, the bird can bleed to death rather quickly, because they have a very small blood volume, under all their plumage. Hope I've been of some help here.
