Hello peeps, I have a 10-month old AG who eats very healthy and is very active. I realized one day that she had a bruise around her right eye and thought it would heal by itself ( im 99% sure she hit the wall while flying). Come today, and after seeing 3 different practitioners, her eye is still bruised and she would shut it close very often. I have used eye drops and ointments but still no use. I am attaching a couple of pictures of her. Id very much appreciate your response and opinions. P.S. there are no avian specialists here whatsoever. Also, there is no discharge nor it is watery. And she seems to eat just fine. i have applied a collar around her neck so she doesnt scratch her eye. Many thanks, Shamael Attachments:

Hello and welcome to the forum. Bumps cuts and bruises usually sort themselves out, if you are almost certain she did it flying into a wall. The fact there is no discharge is good.

How long ago did this happen?
Manzi used to hurt his eyes and face all the time because he played so rough with his toys. Without discharge, it may not be an infection, but maybe there is something still in her eye irritating her. Not sure if there's much you can do. If it gets worse, you can have them prescribe antibiotics.

Wow, that's a heck of a shiner! She probably will weather this, and many more accidents and incidents throughout her life. My guy still has a scar over his left eye from a fight with a heavy bell in his cage when he was a baby. The fact that she is eating well is all you need to know that it is not serious. We feel so guilty if they are injured--but they are going to explore and suffer the consequences because they are so smart! Don't know that I'd restrict her with a collar unless I felt it was absolutely necessary. You might just cause other problems with the unfamiliar harness. If she's not scratching at it with her feet, I wouldn't worry. These guys can really give you worries that keep you awake at night, can't they? We love them anyway, and mostly, we all somehow survive.
