We are a couple days in with our new girl and loving it.
We have a few general questions. I am planning on creating individual threads for them so they are easier for others to locate via the search late on.
Scarlett has three cages, well 2 actual homes and a travel cage.
One is a decent sized corner (wedge shaped) cage that is about 2ft or so tall and plenty of room to stretch her wings. it sits on a stand and leaves her just below eye level while in it. It has a play area with bowl on top for free time play and snacks etc.
The second is a nice tall and wide cage rounded roof that opens so she can climb out and what not.
The previous owner lady had a routine where Scarlett would spend her day in the corner (smaller) cage with A.M and P.M. out of cage play and snuggle time in a bright nook type room with a lot of windows. Then she would bring her into a darker "Den" type room in the early evening and put Scarlett into the large cage with a sheet covering to go "Night Night".
Scarlett likes both cages and when she is placed into the larger cage to go to bed she sits on the floor of the cage with/on her stuffed (now unstuffed) frog for about an hour or so as she quiets down then will move up to a perch and go to sleep. At least I think shes sleeping because she is quiet and still.
My question is this: If she is going to have separate day time and night time cages shouldn't the larger be the day time one?
Also I'm sure the split is not needed right?
I'm fine using the larger as her main home and the smaller as her outside cage or visiting another room home?
Thanks
