Greetings all, Ever since last week when I saw one at our local pet store, I am dead set on purchasing an AG. For the past week I have been reading everything I can get my eyes on about these awsome birds. I found this forum and is has been a great source of information. I am just missing one thing, a place to buy him. I want to get one from a breeder but all the breeders that I come across have retired from the business or dont breed Ag's Does someone know of a decent breeder in the Northeast. (I live in CT but travel to Maine every so often). Thanks

Welcome to the forum and post a photo of the new baby when you get it!

not quite yet..... my wife and I are moving in November so we wont be bringing home one until some time after... The breeder said that they would be ready to go around november, possibly december so that would be perfect!

Mike,
Try to get one as late as possible (after they are weaned), as there have been some people on this forum with problems recently with babies that are too young, and still needing regular formula feeding throughout the day/night. Yours should be at least 14 - 16 weeks old when you get it, and eating solid food. Pick one that is alert and friendly. You'll know it when you see it! ;D

That is good, you will have plenty of time to get everything ready.

Well we went up and checked out the babies... they were all so cute, my wife fell right in love.... she had five that had just started to eat weaning pellets and she let us feed them while they were running around the table lol but the thing is that we told her that we would have to wait until spring to get a grey because our finances wouldnt allow us to bring one home soon, with moving and paying 2 rents in the month of november so we will keep in touch with her and get a cage, toys and all that stuff and by the time spring gets here all we will need is the bird
