There is a crab apple tree in the garden. The crab apples are about the size of cherries. The Wood Pigeons eat them but they have a lot of trouble getting them off as they like to eat them whole. They tug and tug furiously. It must be very frustrating for them.

Those Wood Pigeons would have an easy time here right now. It has been going down below zero at night and the neighbourhood crab apples have been falling off the trees. I pass one house on my daily walks where the people have two cars in the driveway. The cars are covered in fallen crab apples. They could use some birds to help them clean up.

The poor Wood Pigeons are getting confused, the weather this December has been so mild that they think it is time to start nesting.

Until yesterday, it was the same here. We actually had a green Christmas which was very unusual since we are the snowiest capital city in the world. Yesterday, we had 30 cm (1 foot) of snow.
