Yesterday, September 1st marked 100-years since the passenger pigeon went extinct. The human race, in a very shot time, managed to wipe out billions of passenger pigeons, the last one died in a zoo on Sept 1st 1914. I wanted to share this link: faculty.fortlewis.edu/dott_c/bio%20250-swecol/Activities/On%20a%20Monument%20to%20the%20Pigeon.pdfToday thousands of species face the same fate, including our beloved African Grey. In a hundred years will someone mark the date when the last African Grey was seen in the wild, the last flamingo, the last shark caught in the ocean?

It is very sad. According to the Living Planet report, global wildlife populations of 3,038 different species of mammals, birds, sea and freshwater creatures, have declined by an average 52% in the last 40 years. This is due to the destruction of their habitats, overfishing, hunting and poaching.
