Hello my name is Sarah and my family and I recently (only a week ago) adopted a 7 year old African Grey. I have 3 children 3 dogs, 1 cat and now a beautiful Timneh African Grey named Chili. Chili has never been DNA tested and has lived in 4 other homes before coming home to us. We are very excited and he(?) is adapting to us incredibly with only a few hiccups... we love Chili sooo much already!!!! I have done a ton of research already but just like when you are pregnant and read tons of pregnancy books, you realize you are never quite prepared. I am so excited that there is a place like this that I will be using as a resource, since I have no one else that has been through this before!

Welcome to the forum.
Feel free to ask any question even if you think it might sound silly. We are all grey lovers and someone is sure to have experience in any area that may concern you.
Greys are wonderful and you are sure to have lots of fun.

Welcome to the family ....I have never owned a bird before Jezzie and believe me...you are in for one loving, funny and worried ride...I think I worry more about Jezzie then I did about my kids when they were young.

hey there, welcome! Thank you for taking Chili on! Gosh, 4 homes?!?! The poor little one!
Well, as the others have said, we're like a huge family here and love telling each other about our birds.
The only dumb question is the one you don't ask, so please feel free and ask away.

Thank you all so much! I am so glad to have some support, I went to the vet today, and she is an hour and a half away from here and she is the only one unless I go 3 hours away. She informed me I own one of the only 2 African Greys in this area that she knows of. She was very excited to see him, and he looks great to her! YAY... I will be getting him DNA tested next month.
