Me and my sweetheart are getting a new bird his name will be Einstien. My sweetheart has alreay had a lot of experiance with birds. She had one when she lived in Jamaica. Since she has come back to the states she has a Senegal named Sweet Pea, and an Eclectus named Casanova, but he met a untimely end. We have been going to the breeder every week to visit and handle Einstien so he can become familiar with us. I know that this has to be a good idea, we are going to take the travel cage to her ( the breeder) so he can get used to it to so the trip home wont be to traumatic. the ride home will take a least 2 and half hours is this to long of a ride??

no its not too long of a ride , einstine will be fine, mine love to go for rides in the car with the music on, madness sits on the back parcel shelf and bobbs up and down (people behind in cars must think he is one of those nodding car toys, till the turns around lol) and stinky who is not tame at all comes along in his travel cage and sits on the back seat. hope you have lots of fun with your new arrival.

He will be okay and the earlier he gets used to riding in the car the better, for future trips. Just keep reassuring him if he seems nervous and have a cloth to cover the cage if need be.
