My bird keeps falling off his perch in the middle of the night while he sleeps. Why?

Hello and welcome to the forum. How old is he? Is he having any other problems with perching, walking etc. He shouldn't be falling off while he is actually asleep. Maybe something startled him during the night?

Is there a particular perch he is falling off or is it any perch? Young Greys can take time to get used to perches. Keep them lower down so he doesn't injure himself.

At 13 weeks Manzi was still falling quite a bit. I didn't realize how much coordination he has gained until I went to the pet store recently. They have 4.5 month old CAGs. All of them look like Manzi (except their eyes are still dark), but when you see them climb around their cage they look so clumsy. Then it is easy to tell they are still young. I think you shouldn't worry, just do like Jane says and keep your perch low so he doesn't hurt himself.

Let me ask you all something should the perch be a certain size?

A variety of perches is best, both in size and material but about one to one and a half inches in diameter. The feet should wrap about half to two thirds the way round.

Levi is our little guys name and he is sooooo sweet. He is 13 weeks old and I can already tell he loves me so much. We have only had him for 2 weeks. I can tell with each passing day that when I come home from work he want me and only me. Keep in mind so do my 4 teen aged kids and my standard poodle and husband is this normal for him to be so attatched or am I just over reacting. I love that he loves me this is what I wanted, but I own my own bussiness (grooming shop) and sometimes I am home late and his excitment is over whelming to some in the house. He wants to talk to me first. with his gibber he is not talking yet but the way he acts he will be soon. What can I do to keep him under control some what with his excitement.

He is still a baby so he will be expecting and wanting a lot of attention. I think he will calm down as he gets older but it is also quite common for them to form a strong bond with one person. Even if they don't favour one person they usually do have a different relationship with each family member and they make their own minds up about this.
