This may not be too amazing for those of you veteran CAG parents, but I've only been Chico's "mom" for a couple months, and he's my first grey. Anyway, he has a hard cardboard ring chew toy that is suspended from a perch by a leather thong, so that he can play with it (read destroy it) from the floor of his cage. Yesterday, I was watching him play. He sat on his perch (its a couple feet from the floor), reached down and pulled the thong upward with his beak, reached out and held it with his foot, then repeated the motion until he lifted the ring all the way up to the perch. I thought that indicated that he has pretty good problem-solving capabilities. As I said, this may be common CAG behavior, but I was impressed! What a clever boy.

They are good at solving puzzles. Max has a heavy acrylic toy that holds wooden sticks. The object is to get the sticks out from the bottom. However, Max was doing it too easily so my husband stuffed the openings to make it harder. So Max hauled the acrylic toy up to his treat dish so he could turn it upside down and get the sticks out from the top. They are very intelligent creatures!

I didn't buy the toy online, rather from a store called Super Pet. I will see about getting a photo of it.
