I have a pretty good digital camera and it also has video functions. So of course I've been documenting like everything with our baby. So far he's been pretty aprehensive when it comes to water, but the other day he saw our conure taking a bath and couldn't stand it. It's just a short little video but if you wanna watch here it is:

Great video! It is good he is enjoying it because some Greys hate any type of bath or shower.

Well I read in the books I've been looking through that it's healthy for them and goes towards preventing feather plucking because their feathers get dry. Dunno if that's actually true or not, heh. But yeah normally we try to sprinkle water on him and he looks at us like we're crazy, so even though it wasn't much of a "Bath" he's finally learning that water isn't the devil.

Yes it is good for them. It is just that some people have to go to all sorts of lengths to try and get their birds to accept it! I spray mine with a plant sprayer. You can also add aloe vera to the water.

What exactly does the Aloe Vera do for them if you don't mind my blonde question? And yeah we actually tried with a sprayer first because that's how our other birds take baths but I think he's afraid of the thing.

It is good for feather and skin condition. It helps to soothe dry or itchy skin and helps to soften the feather sheaths during the molt. You can also use aloe vera for minor wounds; it has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties.

I get it in health food shops, in bottles. Make sure it is just the pure aloe vera juice.

Pete thinks the world is coming to an end when the spritz bottle appears. Andi tolerates it, but would never list it as a favorite.

so far we're lucky on this (but i know that could up and change one day). we have a bird perch suctioned to our shower wall. zeke sits on his perch, out of the way of direct water stream (unless i aim it on him which i do at least once before getting out) and sings/grabbles up a strom during shower time. i can't say that he likes it as he's always staring at me with his wings part out likes he's debating on flying to me to get outta there but he does tolerate it very well. i've cut down on his showers now that it's getting colder. instead of going once a week he goes about once every two weeks. i should prolly keep him to once a week but i'm scared he'll catch cold.
