I just realized today, that I really haven't been updating you all about Doobie and Sebastian, only complaining about my AC. (it's still not fixed by the way).
Anyhow. Doobie is mumbling an awful lot of words, but, we can't seem to figure them out yet. I don't think she can either , but, she's only 7 months old. On Wednesday's, I work a 10 hour day, so, I usually bring Sebastian with me since he's still handfeeding. This past Weds. I was getting his cage all prepared to take with me and Doobie came across the floor, climbed onto Sebastian's cage and just looked at me like I had 2 heads. I told her that mommy had to take Sebastian to work because it was Weds., so, I'll have to put you back in your cage. She looked at me with her neck stretched out as far as it could go and said, "HEEEEELLLLOOOOO???". So, needless to say, that won me over and I put Doobie in the cage with Sebastain and off to work we went. She still doesn't say "hello" on cue or even on a daily basis yet, but, she sure got her point across to me Weds.
Now, Sebastian's 11 weeks old, he turned 11 weeks on Weds. Doobie flew on the day she turned 11 weeks. Sebastian really didn't have much out of cage time at all on Weds. because we were at work most of the waking hours so, he didn't get his chance. Thursday I worked my normal 3 hours and let Sebastian have lots of out of cage playtime. Still nothing, alot of wing flapping but, no air time. Then this morning I was fixing his formula in the kitchen and when I turned around to start to walk to the living room, Sebastian flew right past me, straight into the garbage can? Why oh why do my grey's find it necessary to land in my trash can their first real flight, I'll never know, but, they both have done it now. So, now, the fans have to be off and it's really hot in here. Sebastian is quite the acrobat. He's all over his little cage, he does laps, up the side, over the top, drops down to the bottom and starts all over again. I guess its a good thing because I haven't been able to come up with a cage for him yet and it looks like he'll be stuck in this small one until he gets his act perfected and can make the routine without the drop to the bottom.
He's still eating 3 times a day, I really can't figure him out, he should be eating only twice a day, but, I guess he's just another one of my spoiled rotten fids and will hold on forever.
