My son playing has been working with Tutu to "play dead". He acts like he's shooting the bird and Tutu flips back and just hangs. Funniest thing to watch. Yeah, the kid has gotten a nice haircut since last week. ;D The links are for when Preston axes the pics. Bang!! Just hanging around... Hanging!! What you can't tell from the picture is that here Tutu, besides being upside down is doing the head bob. That is new. Oh yeah, if you look close at the top picture, Tutu has one orange foot. This came about after chewing up an orange block that is a part of his toy. Color didn't change with the green block, wonder why?

I saw a bird on TV do that and laughed! It's cool that you have trained him to do it also. I showed my wife and she smiled saying CUTE!
Oh, and now I'm Valad The Impailer (Dracula). I just have to keep the hot links down or we will have to accept advertisments blinking all in our face. I like your pre-planning though.

That's just too funny !!! When Peanut cuddles with me she lays on her side and I was teaching her to play "dead bird" that way !!! She does hang upside down though. Never thought about "shootin" her !!! When she's upside down and cradled in my hands I play "rocka bye baby"

Figured why not turn it into a trick. It is much easier when they already feel comfortable doing something. As for the links, I understand how that works. When you have to axe them, just delete out the image file. I'll try to make sure I do that with any pictures I post.

I have taught my Amazon that trick and he loves it. I also swing him on the count of three and he will also hang when I say hang.
I try to get Congo to hang and he just flaps his wings and goes nuts. I will eventually get him to do it too.

Good one! I need to try and teach some tricks to Oliver. You've inspired me.

thats awesome! i just started working on playing dead last week with zeke. it's going OK but not great. i sit on the couch with him on my finger and then brace his back with my other hand and flip him over on his back onto my lap. he vocalizes and reaches for me with his beak to gain balance. he's not upset when its over so i'm hoping in time he'll like it. right now he's GREAT about lifting each wing or both and letting us pet underneath them. i'm not sure what trick i can turn this into. as of now i just tell him 'lift'. any suggestions on progressing it to a trick?? maybe a wave?? it's nice that he lets us do this when it comes time to put the harness on

Tutu probably dipped the orange one in his water and not the green one for some reason.
The links worked nice, I axed the pics and aligned the text. Nice neat looking post.. Thanx!
I see you have also discovered that HTML on Proboards uses the bracket instead of the greater/lesser than sign. That drove me nuts the first time I used a Proboard forum.
