Classic "happy to see you" look. Pete does that mostly when my friend stops over. He rocks side to side with the wings like that. Pete shouts "where's Skip. I told him that "Skip was in jail". He picked right up on that, and Skip loves it.

Congo will do that when he wants my attention. He starts flapping his wings if I don't go pick him up right away. And sometimes he will fly to me when he can't wait any longer.

Oliver does this to me, too! I thought it was a mating thing?? I feel like I should know this but now I'm not sure I do. He does that droopy wing thing and sort of whimpers.
Love the "Skip in jail" one!! Laughed on that one.

I think if is droopy wings like that plus squeaking/whimpering and a sort of pacing around it is mating behaviour. If it is wings slightly out, crouched down and a slight bobbing up and down it means they want to fly or get to someone or something. I have seen both types of this body language with mine.

Thanks, Jane! What you described first is what he does. I thought that was mating behaviour. Which, then, I try to avoid BUT HARD as I love to love on him!!
The other is what he's starting to do now and often. He wants to be right with me at our kitchen table when I'm working. I'm going to have to fix up some kind of station for him.

I thought that if they are dropping their wings, it can also mean that they are too hot. Sometimes Manzi has done that when I didn't turn on the AC. His feet were also very warm.
He does the droopy wing, squeaky noises at mine or my husbands feet. I don't know what it is he sees in them! He will also immediately try to regurgitate for bare feet any chance he gets.
