Hello all. Well Gracie went to her first vet app. with us this morning. So to start the issue with the four fallen feathers yesterday is just from molting he said. I was so glad. He was very shocked with how good she was and how easy for me to handle she was. Then he asked me to hold her close and cover her head if I could. Well she pressed her head in my cupped hand herself as I hugged her to my chest and the lady picked her up from me with a towel. She barely had to hold her because Gracie just laid there on her back. He went over her head to toe and said she was excellent body weight, great muscle tone and structure, liver felt good size and healthy, nose clear and great looking, he filed her nails and then rounded off her beak, and clipped her wings. The whole time she just laid there never fighting back or tring to bite. She didnt even scream! I was very proud of her. He asked about her diet and said it was very good and asked about her behavior which he said was apparently great and I said yes. He said she was amazing and could'nt believe she has been this way with us since the day we got her and is that way with us both. It was great. I liked him alot. I liked how he did everything and the attention he gave her. He is the best in my state and only say 30mins from me. She has done well since and even seems sweeter somehow. He told me to put her on the floor when we got home and let her take her leaps in the air to fly that way to first realize she can't anymore so she could adjust. We did that and I also held her a few feet off floor to let her try so I could again see what kind of fluttering down control she had. That went well and she can flutter down perfect if need be. She has been herself so far but I've noticed she already knows she needs me to carry her where she wants to go. She looks at what she wants and hops to me with her one hand out as if to say take me there lol. So much is still so new and we have a long way to go but still so far so good, we are very happy, and today went great with the vet. I so glad to have this group to gain info from and share my stories of Gracie with.
