I've been having computer problems lately, so I haven't been on line in a couple of weeks. Anyways, I wanted to let everyone know what's been going on with Doobie.
He is now 14 weeks old. He started flying on the day that he was 11 weeks, I was so impressed with him. We let him "earn" his wings for a week or two, then clipped his wings. He was only upset for a day or two and has now figured out that staying on his cage is okay.
He's down to one night time feeding, what a chore that was. He'd still like to be fed several more times, but, the spoiled rotten brat that I've created doesn't win. He'll eat absolutely anything I give him and loves his pellets.
I've taught him how to use a water bottle so, I won't be cleaning up "pellet soup" from his water bowl. He'll step up on command and loves his head to be scritched.
Mike calls him "the falcon" when he has his harness on, he wants to make him a mask and a cape for halloween.
Doobie still loves everyone and we're hoping that he stays that way. He's vocalizing more and more everyday, no real words yet but, he can sure mimick the parakeets pretty good. My quaker Kiwi will hang out with him on his cage and they seem to get along just fine, my nanday though, wants to eat Doobie, so they have to be separated, I don't even want to think about what Doobie will do when he's older.
I'll be back on here more now.
Sorry this is so long.

Hey Dawn, glad to hear Dobbie is doing well. I know how you feel with the feedings, I had Congo down to 1 feeding at 8:30 pm and he got used to it. When he stopped taking formula he would still call for me at 8:30 every night and he would fly to me as well. I gave him a snack of sun flower seeds for about a week til the begging stopped. He likes head scratches now at night before he goes to bed. He is so spoiled.

Thanks for the update on Doobie. It is nice to hear about him. Mine still enjoy being spoon fed with anything soft and warm even at the ages of 12 and 14!

My girls still get baby food most nights, even though they're both weaned!!

It's just sooooo hard not to feed him. I know one of these days, he's going to grow up and not be such a cuddle bug.
