Wow, has Doobie grown!!! In absolutely every area. He's fully feathered now, and his motor functions are getting better daily. I wish I could put him in his bigger cage to stay, but, I'm still afraid of him falling down. So, he gets some playtime in it nightly when we're right there to watch him. He loves his pellets moistened and will eat almost the whole amount I put in with him, drinks from a water bottle and will try any kind of food I offer him. However, when I picked up some Millet for my other birds, I gave him some and he sneezed almost constantly when he'd try to eat it, so, I've decided no millet for Doobie. We let him out of the cage onto the floor every night after dinner and let him stretch his wings, it's hard to believe that in a couple of weeks, my baby's going to be learning how to fly!!!! I'm still feeding him 3 x's a day but, his middle feeding is not as much formula as the other two, I'm assuming that's because of all the other stuff he's eating during the day.
It's so funny watching him climb up the side of his cage and then not know what to do to get down. Some times he falls, sometimes he figures it out. Of course, the cage he's in most of the time is only 2 x 2 x 2, so it's by no means a long way down. He seems to like to hang out on the back of the couch as you'll see in the picture, he scares the crap outta my nanday if they're both there together, Ozzy will escape pretty quickly if Doobie starts heading his way. It's funny that I have such chicken birds, Ozzy and Kiwi, (my quaker), are even terrified of my parakeets. Doobie must look like a giant to them. Speaking of the parakeets, Doobie has become one, I have an CAG keet. lol. When my keet Petey starts his chatter, Doobie goes right along with him trying to mimick what Petey is saying, it's a riot. Doobie is trying to vocalize with us to though, he's trying to say "hi" and practices it all the time.
Well, sorry that got so long, I have to get ready for work, I just wanted to share with you all his progress!!!!
