...Remember Richard Dreyfuss, how he brought all that scientific equipment onto Robert Shaws boat...Remember the big shark cage he brought along...It bears a striking resemblance to the cage the delivery guy dropped on my doorstep yesterday!!! I bought a huge cage for my bird!!! I may have been a little overzealous with the application of the "buy the biggest cage you can afford" theory. I'm lucky my landlord wasn't around, he would be thinking I'm getting a pterodactyl On the bright side. Should the bird be apprehensive or afraid of this monstrosity in my living room. I can just climb inside the cage myself to demonstrate that its ok. Now later today I'm going to "Windy City Parrot" to blow the rest of my tax refund on toys, perches, toys, accessories, toys. Anyone care to peruse their website and give me suggestions? Which toys are good? Which are too cheap? Heres a partial list of what I think I'm gonna get. - A sandy perch - A rope perch - A boing swing - Assorted toys (foraging, shredding, preening, chew, puzzle) - Probably some chew toy parts - A feather tether - A couple manzanita or other natural wood perches - Some vet wrap for the PVC perch I made The breeder is weaning onto "pretty bird" brand pellets, which they don't sell there. So I'm probably just goin to petsmart for our food and treats. Thanks in advance for all the advice. After today all I'll need is a bird! It sucks I gotta wait another week yet. windycityparrot.com/

Regarding the natural perches, mine found the manzanita wood perches quite slippery so I don't use those. The alder wood ones on that site might be better although I haven't tried them. Mine have got a perch similar to the cholla cactus one.

Hey everyone
They also have little flag stone shelves to bolt to the side of your cage. Has anyone ever heard of these? Would they work as a pedicure perch?

The cage sounds great! Good story... Sounds like you're having fun. He'll love this cage! Put some old stuff in there, too. Stuff he knows.

Justin, one of Gandy's favorites are the pinatas. He loves shredding them but they dont last long. his other favorite is foot toys...little junk he can pick up, nibble on and throw, all over the place.
