Sam took a bath yesterday for the first time since I have had him. He made the biggest mess, he was on his play top and splashing water everywhere. I used this opportunity to spray him with a spray bottle so he will get used to it. I then took him in the bathroom and dried him with a hair drier.

You really don't need to dry him with the dryer; it might actually dry his feathers out too much. I aim the dryer at Sterling when he is playing in our bathroom, but only on low and only briefly. He leans forward into the "wind"! One of the books I read said that Greys don't like water; but many seem to anyways. I guess they didn't read that book!

I always always dry my birds, because at night it gets too chilly to leave them all soppy. I let them dry in my bathroom cause my room would be too cold for them if they were wet. Ick, right now it's -13 , and even with the space heater it was chilly in my room, so I had to drag another one in!

I usually spray them in the morning so they will be dry at night. I used the hair dryer to get some of the water off so they wouldn't be dripping wet. I also sprayed them when I was taking a shower so the bathroom was hot and steamy. Our winters are mild here, its 66 F here now and the high today is 73 F.
