I just got a call from my vet and Congo is a boy. Poor boy I have been calling him " her " since I got him. I thought he might be a boy because of his size, now I know for sure.

As long as I've known Jenga, I've called her "she", but I read somewhere the other day that males' beaks tend to look larger in proportion to females'. Jenga's beak reminds me of Preston's Pete, so I've started to call her "he".

Congo was 500g at 10 weeks old, he was a fat baby. He is now 450g at 16 weeks. There is another Grey at the pet store that is about 370g at 19 weeks old, I think its a female. I have seen a big size range in the short time I have had mine.

500g? Haha! Jenga seems really, really small next to the full grown TAGs I've met, but she sure is the fattest baby at the pet store!!!

Monty and Mitzi look more or less the same size although Monty has always been lighter than Mitzi. I last weighed them in December - Monty was 475g and Mitzi was 514g. Monty's beak is larger than Mitzi's and his nares are larger. Her head is more rounded than his.

There can be quite a range in weight depending on their genetic background. I have read 275g to 400g for TAGs, and 400g to 650g for CAGs. I recently saw a TAG and a CAG side by side - both adults - and they were the same size. I think it was a smallish Congo and a largish Timneh!

My girl is a whopping 275 grams. A runt, and I love every gram of her!

Andi was 293 when I brought her home. She has grown, but I need to get a scale to weigh her.
