Monty and Mitzi have got a chirruping bird toy. It is sound operated and the bird chirrups various Christmas songs. It can be operated by clapping your hands, snapping fingers etc. Mitzi can't quite work it because she can't make a loud enough noise to set it off but she knows someone who can - Monty. They work as a team, Mitzi says "da da" in a sort of fanfare intonation and that is Monty's cue to squawk and set the bird off. They had it down to a fine art last Christmas and I didn't have the heart to take it off them so I left it up and in the end it broke through overuse. I have got them a new one this year. ;D

LOL that would be a grand recording to hear! I was whistling christmas carols last year with the commercials on TV , but thought better because Pete was the type to pull them out in June, and drive you nutso! I found out lately that my father in law (under educated trailer trash) has taught him every variation of the F word known, and thinks it's cute. That makes me mader than a hatter. Get us a snippit of that Jane!

I don't wish to frighten you by suggesting I am now copying everything you do, but this sounds like a fabulous idea for my young pal, Joshua. Lidia

I got the original toy a few years ago in BHS and I don't think they have them anymore. The replacement for this year I got from my mother who just happened to also have one. The head and tail move as well when the bird is chirruping. It looks like this although without the extra decorations on: www.alibaba.com/catalog/10881063/Christmas_Singing_Bird.html but that site seems to be for wholesalers. The label on the toy has Premier Decorations Ltd on it so here is their site: www.premierdec.com/v2/front%20page.htmJane

It's no good, it interferes with digital TV!
