So Bella, my 11 month old CAG, and I have been working on potty training. She has a very tall cage with a play gym attached to the top, and I have been teaching her to climb down from the play gym to newspapers on the floor and go potty. Of course, when she does this correcly I praise her like a maniac and give her peanuts and such.
One day I was particularly encouraged as she pottied on the newspapers four times in a row. I thought that certainly she had this potty training down...I was so proud. Then, I went over to her to scratch her head and she dropped the biggest potty I've ever seen on my kitchen floor. I said nothing, just grabbed the appropriate cleaners and began to scrub.
Then Bella says, "No Bella...naughty bird!" and giggles. She knew the whole time (and I had no idea she could say those words, let alone use them in the correct context!).
I think our greys know much, much more than we could ever imagine.

I am sure they do. Mitzi is potty trained but if I pick up the TV or video remote control while she is on my lap I have to watch out as she will do anything to get my attention back to her!

Hmm Remotes, I know this is slightly off thread/topic, but my grey freaks out when the phone rings if she's out of her cage both mobile and landline, and if I touch the tv remote same thing. She latches on to me with her beak. I try not to react, but sometimes it's hard not to. Usually I put her back in to her cage and giveher a stern talking to (big mistake I know) but when you're so attached to something as cute and cuddly it's hard not to react
