This afternoon when I came home, Joshua became very excited and wanted to regurgitate for me ... aaaaaaaaw. I distracted him as best I could, and was cuddling him and stroking his wings and back, which he likes, and picking him up and turning him upside down, which he adores when he is in this mood. About five minutes later, as I walked past him, he shot forward and bit me on the hip!!! Hard. I have vampire bite-marks there. What a little sociopath! Lidia

I don't know, maybe. But why? I always distract him from regurgitating.

Mylo always does that. He has a 10 minute play and then he gets all luvey duvey and sits on my hand/arm and regurgitates (and then eats himself !!) and he'll drop his wings and then all of a sudden in a nannosecond, he will bite really hard and fly off. He does this all the time. I suppose this is what the true meeting of a love bit is !!!!!

I would think the biting could be the result of a sexual response in the bird. Back stroking stimulates them which often starts the need to regurgitate. Mouthing and agressive biting are common as a sexual response in most males.

As a person who bred birds, it looks like he is in the breeding mood and is trying to get you to "go to nest" meaning he wants you to sit for him or to go sit in the nest and lay eggs. ;D If this was the case then my guess is it will pass within a week or two but do discipline him so that he knows it is wrong to bite.
The natural instinct of male birds are to chase and peck at the hens until they succumb to, either 1) allow the male to hop on her or 2) return to the nest to lay eggs. One can see this sexual driving display with the feral pigeons in the parks. The cocks will be constantly chasing or pecking at his mate to get her to stoop or to fly back to their nest.

Oh, I almost forgot, I have read it so many times about greys regurgitating for their human mates but it is definitely hilarious to witness it live. Last week Trinie went into this funny dance routine, at the end he fluffed his feathers, started a twisted shaking of his neck and head until he dropped several pieces of seeds and mush into my hand. Wished I had gotten it on tape.

He may not have been finished playing with you yet, and wanted more of your time.
