I'm new here and was excited to find this site. I have two greys.....a congo and a timneh. They are in separate cages in separate rooms. I am getting a third grey....a congo....and I was wondering if it would ever be possible for the two congos to share a cage. I have a female now and the one I am getting is a male. The female is 2 years old and the male is about 13. I have heard that if they are placed together they will not be so tame and I really don't want that to happen. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have two Congos in the same cage. They are in the same cage now and have been for some years but it took a while to introduce them. They were in separate cages side by side to start with. I had both greys as babies, about two years apart and the relationship each has with me has never changed. I think it would depend on the individual birds though. Mine are completely different in their personalities, one is extremely docile and undemanding so most of the early squabbling was initiated by the other one.

i have two in a cage 1 congo and 1 amazon, strange mix i know . some people say never keep two together and never mix breeds but i think it depends on the birds them selfs,i had to introduce them slowly for about 2 months i had two cages in my living room and a play stand they used to spend all day together on the stand so i thought id give it a go and now they are best buddies, madness it tammer now than he has ever been with me alot more talkative and loving and stinky well he is a diffrent kettle of fish all together ,he will take food from hand and let you close to him but thats as far as it goes but hes always been the same. I would surgest take things slow and give it a go. Nothing is imposible with greys.
