I went to my 1st parrot sale on sunday. I thought it would be a great place to buy books, toys and whatever else. I knew there would be birds for sale there but i was so shocked when I walked in. There were loads of different kinds of birds there and most of them seemed to be coping well with the situation but there were a lot of grey and a few cockatoos that were absolutly terrified. I know that greys are nervous birds anyway but it was awful to see. They were growling screeching and climbing over eachother to get into a corner. I cant believe breeders would put birds through that just to sell the odd one. I wont be going to another. Hilary

That is a shame, the reputable organisers have strict rules about how birds are to be displayed, the accommodation they must be in and who can sell and buy the birds. This has been tightened up further this year to try and prevent the sort of thing you have witnessed.
