This winter weather has been tough. My poor Lily's feet are so dry and cracked. The vet suggested I put Vitamin E on her feet. I have been doing that for a few days now. Anyone have any other suggestions ? I also have a humidifier set up in the area that is is on sometimes. Thanks for any help.

African greys do need quite high humidity to help stop them getting dry skin. The feet are usually a bit scaly looking but shouldn't be actually cracking. Aloe vera can be used to help with skin and feather condition so it might work on the feet as well.

Make sure there is nothing that your bird is walking on that will absorb the moisture from its feet. We have low humidity in Texas (north) and Pete's feet look good.

Thanks --I bought an Aloe Spray someone recommended on a parrot site. George's Aloe Mist. I will try that. They show it being used for birds on their website too.
