I just recently purchased a 4 month old African Grey and have a question. Is it safe to burn scented candles in the home. I live in a small apartment and usually have candles burning all day. The candles contain non-toxic wax and coloring. T ???hey are located in places that are impossible for the bird to reach. I read in an article that scented candles should not be burned in a house with a bird. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Carol

Birds havevery sensitive respiratory systems. The burning of scented candles around parrots is best avoided because of the essential oils or other chemicals which are used in them. Candles with metal in the wick should also be avoided.

Thanks for your advice. I didn't want to do anything that would endanger the health of my baby.
