is it safe to feed your bird table food. i see that alot of people do it. i let my bird have some of my pasta and meat sauce and she loved it. i only let her have a little bit. i am nervous to feed her table food i don't want her to get sick.

They can have table food as long as it isn't salty or high in fat. See: "What food is good and what is bad" in the FAQ section to see what things to avoid. They usually want to try whatever their owners are eating which is also good because that is one way to tempt them to try food such as vegetables they might otherwise reject.

Nutrition for birds is so very confusing. I've read in some books that small amounts of meat, cheese, and seed is good for a bird, but I learned in my parrot care class that it's bad. They said it's hard on a bird's kidneys and heart, and that a bird should mostly eat pellets and green leafy vegetables. They said it's best not to give people food at all. All the bird experts seem to give different opinions on the subject. I really don't know who to believe at this point . Nikko shared a little pizza with me tonight, but I gave him a very small amount. Mostly crust, with a tiny bit of pepperoni, cheese, and green pepper. He loved it of course, and wanted more than I gave him.

Last night, Joshua and I had rump steak and mashed parsnips and potatos. Mmmmm, good eating!

Bingo loves spaghetti! It's so cute to watch her hold the noodle and slurp it up. She won't eat the noodle plain, but will gladly take it with a little sauce on it. She will keep saying "ya hungry?"...which really means that she's hungry, or "feed the bird".

These birds are good for your health. I've been eating quite a bit better since my TAG arrived.
