I have Manzi in a new cage. I put the perches at the bottom, but he still climbs the cage. He is getting much better, but he has fallen already. I don't think he got hurt, but I was wondering: Do they make some kind of noise to indicate that they were hurt? I always try to feel his keel bone to see if he is hurt, but anything else could be the problem too. Thanks

He will climb. Have you padded the bottom of the cage, that will help. Monty has fallen all his life; he has problems with his feet. Luckily he has never injured himself. You would be able to tell if Manzi was limping or if he squealed when you touched somewhere that was hurt. A Grey on this forum did fall and got bruised and this led to some isolated plucking due to the irritation.

Line the top of the grate with a good layer of newspaper for cushioning falls. Ivy used to fall quite a bit but now she has the hang of climbing and even hangs upside down (she is 5 months old now). If he is acting normally after the fall, not breathing funny, puffed up or holding his wings differently than normal than I am sure he is ok. If you are still concerned go with your instinct and get him vet checked.

They are quite clumbsy. Pete looses his grip every once in awhile but seems to shrug it off.
