i have an African Grey which a friend of mine gave me. she is 2 years old. At first she was a little nasty. After a couple of weeks she now comes right to me. When she comes on my hand now she will start to nip my hand all over not hard is does not hurt. Is it okay to let her do this? I just switched her food to pellets from seeds. she is eating just fine. I leave pellets in her bowl all the time. I give her 2 to 3 nutiberrys every couple of days and at night i switch between apples, peppers, squash, carrots boiled, tomatoes, strawberries blackberries, and raspberries dried papaya dried pineapples with missing link vitamins powder. I also have vitamins in with her water. She seems to very happy and whistles and dances all the time. She dies not talk is it possible she will start talking.

Exploring your hand with the beak is normal but you have to be careful that it doesn't lead to biting so it might be best to distract her from doing this. Make sure you are not giving her too much in the way of vitamin supplements as it is possible to overdose with these. She may well learn to talk, there is still plenty of time for her to start.

In addition to Jane's post. I was told by my Vet to be very careful with vitimin additiver to water. He said bacteria will form quite easily. I stopped its use.

You could use a toy, scratch her head, talk or sing to her, or move your hand up and down a little.

I always give my Greys a foot toy to play with if he starts exploring my hand with his beak. I had a few nasty bites through this. I agree that the minerals in the water can cuase some trouble. I only add a supplement to the soft food I feed them. I make sure that the supplements does not exceed more than 10% of the weight of the food. Just make sure you follow the instructions, Then I believe you can't go wrong.
