It is probably due to the diet change if he is suddenly eating seeds and has never had them before. What was he eating before? I haven't heard of any toxicity problems with seeds but they should always be fresh because old seeds can harbour harmful fungi. True diarrhoea occurs when the normally solid part of the droppings (the green or brown part) is runny and unformed.

yes his stools have been runny and unformed...i'm concerned about the mold growth though...do you find this strange?! we're taking him off the seeds and just giving him his food that he always eats...can not for the life of me remember what its called...yellow and green pellets though. when we started giving him the seeds he stopped eatting the green pellets...but we're going to see how he does without the seeds. thank you for answering my question!

Yes I do find it strange. I change the lining in Monty and Mitzi's cage daily but the droppings that are there just dry up.
I would keep an eye on him.

I've never seen mold on any of my 6 parrots in 9 years. Most of us whish we could do a pellet diet. I can't get any of mine to eat them, why change? Like Jane says: keep an eye on him. Better yet, collect a morning sample and have your vet look at it.

Mine have a bit of apple juice on the pellets and they started to eat them but then they quit eating there veggis so I cut back on the pelletts some and if I sit here they eat there veggis. they also have seeds and then depending on the treat they eat a lot.
