In the wild they eat whatever grubs and insects they might come across, they do a lot of foraging and may even eat some of the soil so I wouldn't worry about it. It is probably instinctive behaviour and might explain why so many make "digging movements" in their cages even when they have nothing to dig.

That sounds quite hopeful, especially as he is feeding her, as that is all part of pair bonding. He will also feed her while she is sitting on the eggs.

JK, Sorry I missed this post. My wife and I seperated several months ago. I was trusting and foolish and didn't change the locks so she could move her things as she found the time. I went to the hospital and she took things that we decided were mine including Pete. My heart is still broken I miss him so much. Sometimes at night I go to talk to him and look up to find an empty corner where his cage was.

Ohhh, I have been there and that hurts like . We had Zane for 10 years along with a Severe Macaw and the boyfriend rolled out with Zane and the Severe and left me with Miko and Courtney. He was soooooo attached to me and really had a hard time that the boyfriend had to call me to do visits. Which hurt me even more.... But, here I am 5 years later and just adopted Rose Bud... I can not begin to tell you how complete my life feels....

Problem is: I have the money to replace everything taken three times over, but it will never be my lil' buddy.I have to just laugh at myself sometimes; most people would be saddened by divorce, loseing a mate of 12 years, but I tear up over a bird! He would do tricks to hear me laugh so he could run around the top of the cage imatating me. Yes even the snort that everone does when laughing uncontrolably until your face hurts, and you beg him to stop. Tears would run down my face and he'd climb down the cage; cross the ladder to may desk just to cock his head sideways, look up at me and say: "I'm a good boy". Yes you are Pete and he say: "I'm the bird" and go back and try it all over again! These memories hurt; especially when I know it was spite that motivated her. But God does things for a reason so I'l sit back and live for the outcome.

Preston, That is exactly what I was trying to say I could not forget him and the memories we had and did not want to compare him to a new bird.. It took me 5 years to want another bird. For those 5 years it was Zane this, Zane that. It was not because I could not afford one because I like you could have... ;D. Here is the topper of that situation. He moved in with another girl and she kept Zane... God knows were he is now I still think of him. Now, I chose to adopt because there are a million birds out there being abused and neglected. God, does do things for a reason.... Prayers to you...
