I know that you can use (and is indeed recommended to use) Aloe Vera on our birds skin, but is there any other that can be used? I think Mylo may be a bit allergic to it or his skin is reacting to it (which is quite ironic cos im allergic to it too!). Can you recommend any others? Obviously you cant use perfumed or creams with alcohol based properties in it. Im not sure if 'Simple' has stuff in it. Any ideas?

The only other sprays I use are Canopy Bath Time which contains "purified water, purcellin (preen oil), emollients, skin conditioners and solubizers" and Molt Ease but the Molt Ease contains aloe vera as well.

Here's an herbal mist recipe I found on the internet. I'll post the link to it if I can relocate it. Herbal mist - I use the following hydrating herbal therapy to replenish dry skin: Calendula: aids in the healing of dry, cracked skin; Chamomile: soothes and softens skin, reduces inflammation and swelling, helps aid healing; Elder: softens skin.
Recipe: 4 cups of boiling water/1 tsp. of fresh herb leaves/flowers/bark (placed in a stainless steel or porcelain infusion ball). Let steep for about 10-15 minutes in measuring cup then filter liquid through a cheesecloth or strainer into mister bottle, add to this 15 drops of sesame oil and it's ready. Spray your birds thoroughly and don't forget their feet where they may need it the most! Extra tip: Be sure your birds have perches of varying diameter to keep their feet comfortable and stress-free.Okay, found the link. The recipe is towards the bottom of the page: www.africangreys.com/articles/nutrition/skincare.htm

Don't know if sesame oil is of the same compositon as other oils but be very cautious when using oils on birds because they tend to make the feathers tacky and thus reduce their effectiveness as an insulator.

Is there any human aloa vera appliance that can be used on parrots. I'm asking this because in my country there is nothing for parrots bath other than "bio bad" (mineral salts that should be put in the water before bathing)?
best rgds,

Can you get the plain pure aloe vera juice? Then you just add that to water.

Go to a health food store, and you should be able to find 100% Natural Aloe Juice.
