I went to pets at home yesterday to buy Chiko some pellets and toys and when we were there we asked the lady who was obviously the lady in charge with birds about the pellets, she happily sold it to us and everything but when we told her that Chiko so far will not eat anything other than sunflower seeds and monkey nuts she advised us to stop giving him the parrot mix and put fresh fruits in there and when he's hungry he'll have no choice but to eat the fruits. But Chiko's so stubborn, he probably won't eat it and would starve himself. Should i try this method?
I'm really worried about trying it because people who work at pet places like that normally advise people to try methods, just so people will by there products and foods.

I would not try this method, a Grey and indeed other birds will often simply refuse to eat something to the point of starvation. You could perhaps offer fruit and vegetables first thing in the morning when he is most hungry and see if he shows any interest but if he doesn't I would not withhold other food.
