Good Day!
My darling, Montgomerie, has one wing feather which seems to be 'irritating' him (perhaps too strong a word). It's rather bent, you see, and whenever he preens, it looks as if he is trying to bite it off! He has also taken to holding it with his foot, possibly trying to pull on it.
I hope this is not the first signs of plucking, and I wondered, does anyone else have a similar experience that they care to divulge?

It is most likely that he is trying to preen it and because it is bent he can't do it properly. Feathers being in perfect condition for flying are important to a bird and what he might do is chew it off but I don't think this will be the start of plucking.

Well!
I was looking down from my tableau and right before my eyes what did I spy?
None other than my Montgomerie's bent one!!
It would seem that he finally managed to gnaw through the pesky nuisance!
Hip-Hip-Hooray!
