Zazzy too loves to sit on his food bowl rim without the bowl!!! Looks sooo uncomfortable! But he likes it!! I remember when we first brought him home I was so worried about him, even to the point where I would wake up at night to check on him (like I did with my children)...they really are our "babies" aren't they? I know we all love our greys sooo much, sometimes our friends and other family members can't quite understand this (especially if they're not bird lovers!!) But I found over time, I began to relax and be a lot more laid back about him eating and so forth. He goes for regular check ups to our avian vet every 6 months (just in case!!!) Anyways, I wanted to mention that Zazzy absolutely adores pomegranate. Its a great antioxidant also! All his fruit & veggies have to be warmed/room temp or he won't touch them.

Oakley is currently on his bowl *L* I guess after reading everyone saying that's okay I'm lightened up with him being there! At least I'm trying to lighten up *g* I bet I'll be taking Oakley to the vet every 6 months as well. He goes Saturday and I have a whole list of question for the Doc that I just haven't wanted to bother everyone on here about! Thanks for the pomegranate mention, I'll have to try that!!

Other than coloring, all Greys have one thing in common. TROUBLE is their middle name!!

Hi, I'm new here, just thought I'd introduce myself and my CAG, Joshua. Joshua is 15 years old, and I've had him since he was about 5 months old. We both live in Dublin, Ireland.

Hello and welcome. I have two CAGs but they are not as old as Joshua, mine are 11 and 13.

Hi Jane, nice to meet you. What's it like with two of the crazy creatures in the house? Joshua causes chaos almost unlimited all by himself! If I am sitting with my back to him at my computer he loves to fly over to a bookshelf, grab a book in his feet and attempt to drop it onto my head ... sometimes he succeeds.
Does anyone out there have any tips for enticing CAG's to bathe? Joshua used to love being sprayed with a plant sprayer, but for the last couple of years he just backs away from it when I try to spray him. It's not that he's phobic about water, he sits on the shower rail whilst I shower every morning, but won't come in, even on my shoulder. He likes to play on the edge of the sink if there is water in it, and he dips his beak in to swirl the water about. Also, sometimes when I come home after being out, I find he has been having a wash in his water bowl, so he is conscious of needed to bathe, but won't be sprayed or showered anymore!
I don't know what I did to him that caused this reluctance . He's an extremely relaxed and laid-back fella, perfectly plumed, in excellent condition, tactile, talkative and curious about everything and everyone - but getting smellier and dustier as time goes by.
I have even tried putting up a special perch in the shower for him, but he doesn't like it - no matter what position I put it in. I am perplexed by this behaviour.

Lidia
I decided that two couldn't possibly be any messier than just one! It is good having two, they are very different, so fun in different ways.
It seems strange that Joshua went off having showers after enjoying them for so long. Perhaps the humidity is such that he doesn't feel the need for showers anymore, especially as he is in good condition.
I use a small sprayer designed for air plants, but they also bath in the water bowl from time to time. Mine can be very variable, sometimes they want one, sometimes not and other times (much less often) they want to get really wet. I take the cue from them.
